A. Develop a center budget that includes capital and operating expenses. Indicate all sources of income. Describe your plan to insure that the center’s income and expenses balance.

You may prepare either an annual budget, or a budget for just one month. If you have never prepared a budget before you will find it easier to plan for just one month and not have to worry about expenses such as licensing, or income that varies such as registration fees. Under expenses you need to list teacher salaries seperately unless all teachers are paid the same regardless of experience and the age they work with. Don’t forget taxes and FICA.

B. Develop a resource file of at least five sources of funding (other than tuition). Provide a written description of each source and include any requirements to qualify for funding.

You may use Grants as long as you describe what you will receive and how you qualify for the grant. You may not use loans which have to be repaid. You may not use money that replaces money a parent would have given you such as VPK funds or subsidized child care from Family Central. These ideas must be actual fundraising ideas like having a bake sale.
