reading questions

After reading chapters 4 and 5 answer the following questions for each chapter (2 for each).

 Please make sure your answers use information from the text and your prior knowledge.

Chapter 4:

Question 1: After reading the chapter on Motivation, what ideas and/or strategies can you use in your room to motivate students? How can you motivate those students who have more difficulty with learning? Use information from the text and from your own personal experiences. 

Question 2: What makes choice effective? Ineffective?

Chapter 5:

Question 1: How does collaboration interweave with classroom community, checking in/checking out, and choice?

Question 2: How can you use the ideas in this chapter in your classroom when you are given the Common Core or mandated curriculum that needs to be used?
