I think that is comes down to value. While most people do like to save money by purchasing goods that are not name brand, they weigh the value of purchasing the real deal when it comes to certain goods. Take your example of tissues. Facial tissues do not have much difference between the brand name and the knock off. They are used and thrown away. It only makes sense to purchase the less expensive option. But there are some people that notice the difference and only choose the purchase the name brand. They find extra value in these and it becomes worth it to them to spend the extra money, as they feel they are getting a better value for their money. This actually gets more into the branding category than supply chain.
