Assignment Details

Think of a relationship you have or have had (or want to have). I chose my husband

Complete and score the Styles of Love Questionnaire (each are attached to A4), discuss your reactions to how your means compare with those of your gender. Don’t forget that scoring high means that you’re low for that type of love & that scoring low means that you’re high for that type of love. This is important for interpreting your scores. Discuss whether or not you agree with your scores. Specify why or why not. For example, does being low or high for certain types of love have to do with the type of relationship you’re currently in or how long you’ve been with your partner? Depending on how long you’ve been with this person—if the relationship is relatively new, do you anticipate a change in love scores? Or if you’ve been together awhile, have your priorities shifted since you first started dating?

Drawing the graphs (page 5) is optional. You will not be penalized for not doing them. If you decide that you’d like to draw them, please include them as an appendix. Do not incorporate the graphs in the written portion of the assignment. DO NOT DO

Optional: you can also take the Sternberg Triangular Model of Love scale and discuss how those results compare to the results of the Styles of Love Questionnaire. DO NOT DO

You do not need to cite the Hendrick and Hendrick (1986) article unless you use content from the article.

If you use any outside sources be sure to include a separate reference page. Refer to the resources mentioned in the Assignment Requirements Document for specific format requirements.

Criteria

This assignment needs to meet the following criteria:

• Include the following sections (with a minimum of 2 double-spaced pages of text beyond the title & reference pages):

-Title page (course #/your name/assignment #)

– Discuss your Styles of Love score (3-4 paragraphs)

– Do you agree or disagree with the scores; why/why not? (5-6 paragraphs)

– Conclude with details about how your relationship dynamics may have influenced the

results (1-2 paragraphs)

– Reference page (if you used any outside resources to garner your opinions)

• Do not “directly quote” outside resources (e.g., the textbook). You should get used to paraphrasing outside resources, whereby you put the information in your own words while still citing the source from which you derived your information. Keep in mind that using anything more than three consecutive words of the outside source is considered plagiarism.
