This assignment requires students to use the ideas from our readings to develop a research project on a specific issue related to public space and gender or race. Unlike Assignment #1 in which you primarily analyzed another author’s argument, your purpose in Assignment #2 is to devise entirely your own argument about your chosen subject, using both course material and research sources to support your ideas. Thus Assignment #2 requires that you present a clear, informed position on public space and gender or race.
