Western Civilization Essay

Historically there has been a pattern of civilizations rising and falling, although the question of falling is not inevitable.

The causes of the decline and fall of these civilizations or empire is the subject of this question.
Of all the empire / civilizations we have looked at this semester, choose FIVE and examine the causes of their decline, as stated in class, in your text, or in an article you have read or perused from your own research. After you have examined all five civilizations and the cause of their decline and fall, determine whether there are any causes which are the same for all five. If there are, explain them and offer your thoughts on why they reoccur.

Choose any 5 of the following civilizations:

Sumerians, Akkadians, Amorites,, Hittites, Assyerians, Chaldeans, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Persians, Greeks, Romans

How long? As long as it takes, but if I am asking for 5 civilizations, the essay cannot be less than 2.5 pages and that risks ignoring important details. It should also not be more than 5 pages.

Length: 2.5 – 5 pages: If less, deduct 2 points
Font: Times New Roman, 12 point font. If different, deduct 2 points.
Margins: 1 inch on all sides. If different, deduct 2 points.
Line Spacing: 1.5 lines. If different deduct 1 point.
