Identify the Business Cycle

Using publically available data (i.e. web, newspapers, etc. – be sure to cite where you got your data) and
the material from the CSC text books, identify what current stage of the business cycle you believe
Canada is in and why. Please note, there is no one correct answer for this. You will be graded on the
strength and logic of your analysis not your final conclusion. This is an individual assignment.

Structure:

The report should be a maximum of 5 pages including any diagrams or appendices (1 inch margins,
single-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman). It should be written as if it were a report to your boss. The
assignment will be graded as follows:

Strength of Analysis 70%
Presentation 20%
Grammar / Spelling 10%
