Part I:

Write a short paper about your experience with computers and some of the material you have learned in CIS 111. The first part of the paper should be between 3 and 4 pages long and should contain a Title Page, a table of contents, at least four paragraphs and a table. The second part will demonstrate your knowledge of word replacement.

Topics: The first paragraph should describe your background in computers prior to this course including your introduction to computers and your use of computers at school or work. This paragraph should have a Heading level 1 titled Experience. The next paragraph should discuss two or more things you have learned from the CIS111 lectures or labs. This paragraph should have a Heading level 1 titled CIS111. The third paragraph should discuss two aspects of computer hardware. This paragraph should have a Heading level 1 titled Hardware. The last paragraph should discuss word processing it must include a bulleted or numbered list of some of the word processing commands you are using and any issues that you wish to mention related to this project. This paragraph should have a Heading level 1 titled Word Processing. The table should be a 4 column by 8 row table consisting of 6 cities and their yearly average temperature. The first column will be the name of the city, the second column will be the average temperature in 2005, the third column will be the average temperature in 2010 and the forth column will contain the average temperature for 2015. The first row of the table will contain column headings and in the last row of the table in the 2005, 2010 and 2015 columns insert a table formula that calculates the average temperature for all the cities for that particular year. Calculate one average for 2005, one for 2010 and one average for 2015. Left justify the first column and center and bold columns 2, 3 and 4. This table should have a Heading level 1 titled Statistics. Insert page numbers on all pages of your paper.

Title: The paper should have a creative title. The title should be on a page by itself, centered left to Right and in bold-faced type. Use a 14-point font of your choosing. Below the title, Right justify and single space 3 lines containing (1) your name, (2) the course number and section (CIS111-610), and (3) the date. Italicize the date! The table of contents (TOC) should be on the second page and the paragraphs should start on the third page. Spelling: Use the spell checker – points will be deducted for spelling errors! Paragraph Format: All paragraphs should be left justified with the first line indented 0.3 of an inch and the entire paper except the title and name, course and date should be double spaced. Do this by using the paragraph format feature of the word processor. The Table should be on a page by itself. Do this by inserting a page break before the table.

Part II:

Make a copy of the first 2 paragraphs from the first part of this assignment using the highlight and copy commands. Put this copied data at the end of your document. Put a new page break character in the document so that this second part of the document starts on a new page. This page should have a Heading level 1 titled Word Replace. You will now modify what you have copied, DO NOT MODIFY PART 1. NOTE: This is all one file, not two separate files.

Word Replacement: select the second part of your paper and replace all occurrences of the word “the” with the word “baseball”. (Whole words only) Remember to update the table of contents and make sure it is accurate.
