Sales Leadership Philosophy

Create a clear and cohesive sales leadership philosophy statement. As
you do so, consider the specific challenges and opportunities
experienced by leaders in sales and marketing.

Deliverable

1. Analyze a personal leadership approach in relation to an
   established sales theory. Recommend one or more leadership theories that
   either exemplify your current approach or that explain an approach you
   would like to pursue. As with the sales philosophy you completed in
   Assessment 1, be specific: Identify the ideas, authors, scholars, and/or
   public figures that most closely represent your methods and beliefs
   about leading a sales team. Explain why the theory you have chosen would
   be likely to benefit a leader with your set of goals.
2. Using the above leadership theories and/or models, describe a
   typical relationship between yourself and a salesperson on your team.
   Consider also whether there is anything unusual about leadership of
   salespeople (as compared with leading the staff of other departments
   within an organization). Alternately, if you have not had a leadership
   experience yet, hypothesize what these everyday interactions would look
   like according to this approach.
3. Identify a leadership approach that exemplifies your own beliefs
   about ethical leadership practices. What does it mean to treat your
   subordinates fairly? Be sure to support your response with
   professionally reputable sources.
4. Describe how you would coordinate the efforts of one or more team
   members located in a different country. What sorts of arrangements would
   you need to make? How would you adjust your approach to communications,
   both with the individual(s) and your larger team?

• Number of resources: Minimum of four resources.
• Length of paper: 3 to 6 typed, double-spaced pages.
