Write a Summary (1½ – 2 pages)

Goal: In chapter two (“The Tree of Knowledge”) of Sapiens, author Yuval Harari discusses what made Homo Sapiens distinct from other species. Your task is to read the chapter carefully, then write a summary. You are not required to take a position on any of it. That is not the function of a summary. Instead pull out the key points of the chapter and describe them in a well-written 1-2 pages.

Resources: Sapiens, chapter 2.

Length and Format: 1½ – 2 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, one-inch margins.

Due Dates: Sunday Jan 21, 2018.

Evaluation Rubric:

1. Your summary provides a clear and concise recounting of Chapter 2 of Sapiens.
2. Your essay effectively demonstrates your knowledge and understanding of that chapter.
3. Your summary is well organized and free of grammatical errors.
