Survey of Local Services

For this assignment, you will survey three local services (I live in Greeley, Colorado). either in person or online, that are available to older adults or caregivers of older adults in your community. The information you gather will lead to your selection of a specific agency, organization, or program for your final project, Support Services Recommendation Report. At this stage; however, you are exploring the resources.

Assignment Instructions

1. Identify a minimum of three different types of services in your local area offered to older adults.
2. For each resource, identify the following:
   • Designate whether the resource is a profit or nonprofit, public or private agency, program, organization, or institution.
   • Identify the population served including its size, diversity, ethnicity, languages spoken, and so forth.
   • Identify technology provided for older adults and how it is used.
3. Analyze the local services available in terms of variety offered, quantity of services to meet the local needs, quality of the services, and received financial support.
4. Compare policies, programs, and interventions that are specifically targeted to the aging segment of diverse populations.
   • Identify epidemiological data, including mortality and morbidity statistics, noting significant differences by cultural and ethnic groups, and aspects that foster or inhibit successful aging.

Submission Requirements

Written Communication: Exemplify master’s level critical thinking and analysis in your paper. Do not just present a summary of the readings. Objectively evaluate and report on the findings of your research materials and the readings from the course.

• Clearly identify in your paper where you are addressing each grading criterion or part of the assignment.
• Create written communications that are respectful and appropriate to the purpose, context, and audience.
• Apply the conventions of the APA style guide and format in written communications.
• Generate communications that are clear, organized, concise, and use correct grammar and mechanics.
• Your paper should be double spaced using Times New Roman, 12 point. There is no required minimum or maximum page length.
