Please answer ONE of the following questions:

1. How is Maori masculinity and femininity portrayed? How are these versions of masculinity and femininity valued or not in contemporary and urban Maori culture? How are versions of gender passed onto girls and boys?

2. The film shows some really raw and unflinching depictions of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and the male culture of Maori men as violent. How does the depiction of violence in modern Maori families force us to think about the legacy of colonization? In what way does the legacy of colonization bear upon the Maori people, their families, and their communities?
