Overview: This activity will allow you to organize the appeals process in a judicial case.

Create a chart that maps the appeals process within a case selected from the list below. (You may use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, other similar word processing or spreadsheet programs, or online tools such as Bubbl.us.) Details from each case can be found on the Supreme Court Opinions page.

Ohio v. Clark (2015)

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Timeline: Create a timeline of the appeals process.

II. Facts: Describe the facts of the appeals.

III. Outcome: Explain the outcome at each stage.

IV. Change: Evaluate how the outcomes changed as the process unfolded.
