Complete problems 10.1 (pages 311-312), 10.2 (pages 312-313), and 10.7 (pages 315-316).

Note to those using the 13th edition of the textbook: problem 10.1 is different in the 14th edition. Be sure to complete the 14e version of the problem, which can be found in the PDF file linked here: ( I took screenshot it )

Part c of problem 10.2 asks you to create a control procedure that prevent five specific errors in the data set. This should be accomplished using the data validation tool in Excel. The posted solutions include a step-by-step walkthrough of how to do this that will be useful if you’ve never used data validation before. Once you have implemented the data validation, you can confirm it is working by opening the “Data” menu in Excel and clicking on “Data Validation” and then “Circle Invalid Data”. You should end up with red circles around the invalid data as shown in the picture below. ( I took screenshot it )

Note: it is normal for the circles to go away when saving or reopening the document. Simply choose Circle Invalid Data again to see them.
