Overview

By themselves, federal, state, and local law enforcement can fight terrorism using the resources available to them. However, by helping one another, they can improve their effectiveness. Each level of law enforcement has unique resources that can be shared with the other levels.

Chief Edwards liked the headway the department made last week, in relation to enhancing communication and cooperation with state and federal law enforcement. This week, he is interested in capitalizing upon this new cooperation. He wants to establish a mutual aid agreement between his department, the state, and a federal agency. In order to set the parameters for this coalition, he needs to understand the assets that each level can bring to the table. He has tasked you to research this issue.
