Final Report

It’s time to submit the final report for your Course Project. In this paper, combine all information from each prior part of the project into one comprehensive paper. All information should flow together as one cohesive report. You should provide an introduction about the department that you selected and a conclusion that includes what you have learned about the department throughout the process. You will also include information from your ride-along/interview.

Step One: Review your previous course project assignments and feedback from your faculty member.

Step Two: Submit a paper that includes the following information:

• All information from your previous course projects and your ride-along/interview into one comprehensive paper.
• Be sure to incorporate any additional information or comments from your faculty member.
• A detailed summary of the ride-along/interview experience, including the following information:
  • Date and time of ride-along/interview
  • Name and badge number of officer
  • Officer’s agency/department
  • Detailed summary of ride-along/interview experience
  • Observations of ride-along, if applicable (length of ride-along, calls for service, etc.)
  • Responses to questions asked of the officer during ride-along/interview
  • Reflect on what you learned from the ride-along/interview assignment, how the experience helped you learn more about the duties and realities of policing and how you will apply this knowledge in your career.

Submit your completed assignment by following the directions linked below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:
