My assignment has two parts, both are two separates

part one has two questions which answer them from the book:

first: answer two question in 250 words:

Question 1

Read My Journey with Grounded Theory Research and review the seven suggestions Brott provides. Pick three to four suggestions and discuss how you will use them when developing your research.- answer is in (Merriam) Chapter 7.

Question 2

Discuss the procedures for conducting grounded theory research and how you would overcome the challenges in research?

answer is in Creswell Chapter 4

Part two: this part Write up your findings in about 4-5 pages:

assignment, read the grounded theory study that is given on Appendix D of the book regardless of the edition of the book that you have. Whether you base your assignment on “Constructions of Survival and Coping by Women Who Have Survived Childhood Sexual Abuse”: or “Developing long-term physical activity participation: A grounded theory study with African American Women,” purpose is same here: an example of a grounded theory study.

Written Assignment – Focus Group Interviews

Re-read Appendix D in Creswell, “Constructions of survival and copy by women who have

survived childhood sexual abuse” (p.285). This 10-week study involved a focus group of 11

women who talked about survival and coping strategies of abused women (from childhood).

Two major strategies emerged from the studies—minimization of feeling overwhelmed and

managing helplessness. I am asking you to bring the study to a group of 2 or 3 of your

colleagues (outside of this cohort) as your focus group. Their assignment is to read the study

in Creswell, and then for you to formulate questions to the focus group to determine the

trustworthiness of the study.

Come to your own understanding (through the focus group discussion) of the nature of sexual

abuse. By using open-ended interviews with focus group participants you may be able to

analyze your data using Strauss and Corbin’s (1990) coding schema (open, axial, selective

coding) in which a core category and perhaps interrelated categories may emerge. Read

widely about grounded theory, which most closely resembles quantitative research. You

need also to read about focus group techniques as a process for gathering information for

qualitative study.

Write up your findings in about 4-5 pages.
