The Assignment:
Write a non-fiction essay based on one or more of your personal experiences. (Note: Your essay should not be religious in nature.) Your essay should include an analogy to help develop your personal experience into a clear thesis.

You will be graded on the points below. These techniques you have seen successfully in four essays you read during this Unit.
- Use an analogy to develop a thesis.
- Have a clear thesis, which may be a lesson or message for the reader.
- Use one or more personal experiences to develop the thesis.
- Use a clear organizational pattern for the essay.
- Use writing strategies to develop a clear tone.
This essay should be between two and four pages (500-1000 words) in length. Your final draft should be saved and submitted as .doc or .pdf file. It should be in 12-point font in Times New Roman.
Most importantly, remember this is a culminating project for the Non-Fiction Unit. Your essay should show everything you have learned throughout the unit.
