1. Choose one song from the ShiJing/Book of Songs.

2. Compose an imitation of that Chinese song.

3. Your imitation should reference an important event or experience in your own life.

Part Two:

Write a two-page reflection essay on your song. Questions you should consider: what were you trying to express about the event? Do you think your imitation was successful in expressing your ideas? In expressing your emotions? Do you think your song is a good imitation? Why or why not? Be sure to include quotations from your imitation and from the original Chinese song.
