Two years ago, Conglomco stock ended at $73.02 per share. Last year, the stock paid a $0.34 per share dividend. Conglomco stock ended last year at $77.24. If you owned 200 shares of Conglomco stock, what were your dollar return and percent return last year?

Calculate the coefficient of variation for the following three stocks. Then rank them by their level of total risk, from highest to lowest:

Conglomco has an average return of 11 percent and standard deviation of 24 percent.

Supercorp has an average return of 16 percent and standard deviation of 37 percent.

Megaorg has an average return of 10 percent and standard deviation of 29 percent.

Year-to-date, Conglomco has earned a −1.64 percent return, Supercorp has earned a 5.69 percent return, and Megaorg has earned a 0.23 percent return. If your portfolio is made up of 40 percent Conglomco stock, 30 percent Supercorp stock, and 30 percent Megaorg stock, what is your portfolio return?

Compare the roles or duties of a technology leader described in the reading to those of a technology leader in your organization. Are these roles alike or different and how? As you answer this question, consider the primary roles or duties as a technology leader. What challenges are encountered with these roles? What influence do stakeholders have? If you are not currently employed feel free to use an example from a previous organization.

  Introduction

  The work of emergency management does not conclude after the EOC is disbanded. Some would consider the recovery and mitigation phases to account for the bulk of the work in emergency management. In this discussion, you will focus on the recovery and mitigation phases to build your knowledge of the work necessary to return a community to a state of normalcy and build resiliency to minimize future losses.

  Instructions

  Consider the disaster risks that exist in your community or state. Select one and search for news and government documents that describe how another community that faced a similar disaster recovered from the event. What assistance did they receive from local, state, or federal agencies? Did they develop plans to minimize the loss if the disaster recurred? Complete the following:

  1. Identify one type of disaster that is a risk in your community or state.
  2. Explain how another community faced a similar disaster and the recovery and mitigation steps that followed (financial aid, use of volunteers, temporary housing, changes to infrastructure, and so forth).
  3. Describe your suggestions for your community or state emergency management officials to help minimize loss if the disaster was to occur.

The cause-and-effect diagram is important in determining causes and effects of a problem. The cause-and-effect diagram is also known as the Ishikawa diagram, or the fishbone diagram. Creating the diagram requires knowledge of causes for a problem and the effect of the problem. This is also a good brainstorming tool.

Read the following scenario and respond the questions that follow in a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document.

A large farm produces a number of vegetables for sale to the highest bidder (usually buyers who aggregate the produce from lots of small farms and sell the produce to grocery store chains). The farm is receiving complaints about the quality of its produce. More specifically, complaints are being received about the produce being damaged or bruised, becoming inedible too quickly, or not being consistent with the package label (in terms of how much produce is in each box or container).

• Identify potential quality concerns in the traditional areas of machinery, employees, measurements, and materials.
• Organize these quality concerns using a cause-and-effect diagram.
