Karla knows that the bank president, Michael, keeps $10,000 in his home so she decides to steal that money. Knowing that Michael will be away for the weekend, she goes to his home, picks the lock on his backdoor and enters his home. In his bedroom she finds his safe but cannot open it. When she returns, she splits the money with Pamela and Barbara and they decide to go their separate ways never to see each other again.

That afternoon, while vacuuming the apartment, Jackie sees the box with the masks and gun. Later, while watching the news, she sees footage of three persons in a car outside Michael’s home, sitting in a car and wearing masks similar to those under Karla’s bed. American Ethnic Studies paper

Paper should have two components. First, you must identify and discuss your film/book/etc., in terms of how it attempts to say something about people of color. In other words, you might ask, how does the plot involve African American women? Asian American men, or whatever other group you decide to focus on (you can look at more than one racial ethnic group in the United States or just focus on one, depending on the movie, etc.)? Who is the hero/ine? What types of activities/dialogue do people of color have? How do the characters interact? What literary/film/musical strategies are used to depict particular aspects of racial ethnic life?

The second aspect of your assignment is an historical analysis of what you have read/seen/heard. Find out what the historical/political/social context was when the piece was created. How does the storyline reflect the historical context in which it was created? What is the evidence of this impact in the story/film?

You must use information from the class to support your paper. This may be in the form of lectures and/or readings. Some additional research may be necessary. Suggested reference films to help with your analysis include Ethnic Notions (for African Americans), More Than Bows and Arrows (for Native Americans), Bronzed Image (for Latinos/as), Slanted Screen and Slaying the Dragon (for Asian American & Pacific islander American men and women, respectively). You are encouraged to use the recommended readings before relying on any other material. The main objective is to understand and explain how cultural productions occur in particular historical contexts and how people of color are affected by such productions.

You must be sure to type (double space) your assignment, how no more than 1.25” margins about 8 pages, and use conventional footnote/bibliographic citations.

Here are some films and notes:

Spirit of Crazy Horse

Ethnic Notions

Days of Waiting

Carved in Silence

I am Joaquin

(Advanced Information systems) WEEK 5 ESSAY QUESTIONS

Each response to a single essay question should
be about a half-page in length (about 150 words).

1. Access controls are security features that are usually considered the first
line of defense in asset protection. They are used to dictate how subjects
access objects, and their main goal is to protect the objects from
unauthorized access. Access control models are frameworks that use access
controls to enforce the rules and objectives of the model. In your essay
response, compare the different Access Control Models and give an
example of one that you have used in a work situation or if that is not
possible, one that you’ve read about in a scholarly article.

2. Relying on a password to secure access to a system does not provide
enough security in today’s complex world. The Office of Personnel
Management learned this the hard way in 2015. Since OPM was hacked
and it was learned that the attackers compromised their system
administrator accounts that were protected only with passwords, the
Federal government has required the use of multifactor authentication for
privileged accounts. Describe the three factors that can be used in
authentication and give at least two examples for each.

3. There are two main methods of access control administration that an
organization can choose between to achieve the level of protection that
they need to secure their assets and information: centralized and
decentralized. Describe the RADIUS, TACACS, and DIAMETER forms of
centralized access control administration. What are the advantages and
disadvantages of decentralized administration.
