Sunday in the Park with George

NO Sources allowed besides the 3 plays in the link, NO CITATION NEEDED.

IN ESSAY FORM, ANSWER TWO OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS – ONE FROM GROUP A & ONE FROM GROUP B. (YOU MAY NOT ANSWER TWO QUESTIONS FROM THE SAME GROUP!)

EACHOF YOUR TWO ESSAYS SHOULD BE AT LEAST TWO PAGES IN LENGTH.

GROUP A

1. In Sunday in the Park with George, George sings to his mother, “You watch while I revise the world.” In what ways is Sunday in the Park with George a show about revising the world/revising one’s life? Be sure to use specific examples from songs to help illustrate your arguments.

2. At the beginning of Sunday in the Park with George, Dot is modeling for George. Tired, hot, bored and feeling a bit ignored, she protests, “George, there is someone in this dress!” The original script for Sunday in the Park with George included a scene in which Dot posed nude for George. In that version, the two Celestes begged George to let them pose for him, and he finally agreed, but only if they posed nude (for a different painting than the one in the show). They were offended and left. Dot, having overheard the conversation, reluctantly offered herself as a nude subject. The resulting painting became the one that Dot came and asked for, later in Act I, before she left for America. The writers felt strongly that the scene was an important one for the show, but it ended up being cut because Bernadette Peters (the actress playing Dot) was uncomfortable performing it. So – using that information as a jumping-off point…in what ways can Sunday in the Park with George be seen as an examination of objectification, and of the capacity for artintentionally and/or unintentionally – to become an objectifying act?

GROUP B

1. Discuss the depiction of ambivalence in the work of Stephen Sondheim. Use specific examples from at least three songs. Make sure that you make reference to at least two of the four Sondheim shows we have studied in class. (That simply means that you can’t get all of your examples from the same show!) If you earlier submitted an Into the Woods paper about ambivalence, you may not use the same song you discussed in that paper as one of your examples for this response.

2. InPassion, Stephen Sondheim sets up expectations for the audience and then defies those expectations when things don’t happen in the way we think they will (or the way we think they should). Using at least two examples from the show, discuss how Sondheim sets up situations in which we are sure we know what will happen, or at least what should happen – and how he then mocks those expectations by sending the show in a different direction. Finally, discuss why you think he chooses to do this.

Assignment 2: Block Business Letter

Choose one of the following professional scenarios

Professional Scenarios

1. Saban is a top performing industrial equipment salesperson for D2D. After three years of working with his best client, he receives a text message from Pat (his direct manager) assigning him to a completely different account.

Pat has received complaints that Saban gets all of the good clients and is not a “team player.”

Saban responds to the message and asks for a meeting with Pat to discuss this change. Pat responds with another text message that reads: “Decision final. Everyone needs to get a chance to work with the best accounts so it is fair. Come by the office and pick up your new files.”

Moments later, Saban sends a text message to Karen, his regional manager and Pat’s boss. It simply reads, “We need to talk.”

2. Amber, Savannah, and Stephen work for Knowledge, Inc. (a consulting company). While on a conference call with Tim Rice Photography (an established client), the group discusses potential problems with a marketing campaign. Tim Rice, lead photographer and owner of Tim Rice Photography, is insistent the marketing is working and changes are not needed.

Amber reaches over to put Tim on “Mute” but accidently pushes a different button. She immediately says to Savannah and Stephen that the marketing campaign is not working and that “…Tim should stick to taking pretty pictures.”

Tim responds, “You know I can hear you, right?”

3. James shows up to work approximately five minutes late this morning, walks silently (but quickly) down the hallway and begins to punch in at the time clock located by the front desk.

Sarah, the front desk manager, says, “Good morning, James,” but James ignores her, punches in, and heads into the shop to his workplace. Sarah rolls her eyes, picks up the phone, and dials the on-duty manager to alert her that James just arrived and should be reaching his desk any moment.

4. Paul works for the website division of SuperMega retail company. He receives an email late Friday afternoon that explains a new computer will launch at the end of next June and it will be in high demand with limited stock. Also contained in the three-page-message is that customers will be able to preorder the item 30 days before launch according to the production company. Paul is asked to create a landing page for consumers who are interested in learning more about the product.

By mistake, Paul sets up a preorder page for the product that afternoon (well in advance of the company authorized period) and late Friday evening consumers begin to preorder the product. Sharon, Vice President of Product Sales at SuperMega, learns of the error Saturday morning and calls Paul to arrange a meeting first thing Monday morning. Sharon explains to Paul on the phone that the company intends on canceling all of the preorders and Paul responds that the company should honor the preorders because it was not a consumer error. After a heated exchange, Paul hangs up on Sharon when she insists that the preorders will be canceled because of Paul’s error.

Need corrections made to my paper

Need corrections made to an essay.

Follow the guidance of your peer editor: work on punctuation and sentence structure. As well, your conclusion brings up a new issue and it should not do that. In fact, your conclusion seems to be more the counter argument than the conclusion. Recall, over-viewing the counterargument is good, but you must conclude with the “so what” of what you’ve provided in your own argument. So, first, determine your argument/position (this is your thesis), which isn’t just about showing the effects, but also about who cares? An appropriate thesis, might be this: Measures have been taken to address security at airports and those measures are good for all of us.
This way, you have a guide to where you will go in your conclusion.

Transtheoretical and Health Belief Models in Chronic Illness

Transtheoretical and Health Belief Models in Chronic Illness

The course of illness can be influenced by biological, psychological, and/or social factors covering a broad range of topics that include stress, coping, and behaviors that either promote health and prevent illness, or contribute to the development of clinical problems. Health and wellness are important to our daily lives and this is true even in the context of being diagnosed with a chronic illness such as diabetes mellitus. The interplay between emotions, cognitive, and behavioral/physical factors can affect all aspects of health and illness. Individual differences such as culture, ethnicity, lifestyle, religion, gender, identity development, financial status, and social support should be considered when analyzing the individual’s response to a chronic illness. Numerous research studies have investigated the impact of one or more of these factors in terms of the effect on chronic disease outcomes. These outcomes can include symptom management and/or progression of the severity of the disease.

Explanatory theories often describe factors that contribute to health problems, or interfere with prevention activities, and thus provide targets for change. One such theory is the Health Belief Model (HBM) which addresses perceptions of the health problem. These perceptions include the degree of threat in terms of susceptibility and severity, any benefits to be obtained by avoiding the perceived threat, and various internal (e.g., self-efficacy) and external (e.g., barriers to care) factors that influence the individual’s decision to act. Other theories emphasize motivations that influence a continuum of stages of behavioral change. The Transtheoretical Model (TTM) of behavior change is a theory of this type. The response to chronic illness and the illness experience itself can be described by these models. In managing chronic disease, there are coping strategies and behavior changes that support optimal outcomes and therapeutic interventions can be designed for greater effectiveness by using these two models.

For your paper you will choose from the two options below. The option you choose will provide the focus and title for your paper.

The use of additional scholarly and/or peer-reviewed references is highly recommended. These may be obtained from academic, professional, or governmental agency sources. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, non-academic websites, and media outlet sites or publications are not appropriate resources for academic writing and are not appropriate for inclusion in this paper. You may reference your textbook and other required or recommended materials from the course but these will not fulfill the minimum reference requirement.

In your paper you will provide an analysis of your research by addressing the following elements:

  • Personal impact of chronic illness
  • Impact of chronic illness on friends and family
  • Methods of coping
  • Interventions to encourage healthy lifestyle choices
  • Motivations for adhering to recommended self-care guidelines
  • Beliefs about illness that support or reduce self-efficacy and the ability to take action.

Use the following headings to organize your paper into four sections as follows:

  • Introduction: Explain how the TTM or HBM can be used to explain the individual’s response to chronic illness
  • Body: Analyze the impact of chronic illness on friends and families, coping strategies used in chronic illness, social and psychological factors involved in the illness experience, long-term social and psychological implications of chronic illness, and therapeutic interventions based on your model
  • Conclusion: Summarize how the TTM or HBM explains the individual’s approach to illness and behavior change
  • Appendix: Complete the provided TTM table (Option A) or the HBM table (Option B), thinking of the diabetic individual’s adherence to self-care recommendations. Copy and paste your completed table into the Appendix of your paper.

This paper must include the biopsychosocial aspect of your research with emphasis on biological, psychological, and social factors. Be sure to elaborate on these factors using information drawn from your research and text readings.

Throughout your paper, include in-text citations for all statements of facts obtained through your research. Remember that direct quotes (identical phrases or sentences taken from a source) require in-text citations with appropriate formatt. Statements of opinion should be clearly stated as such, and include a rationale to support why you hold this opinion (e.g., personal or professional experience, your research findings).

Writing the Final Paper

The Final Paper:

  1. Must be five to seven double-spaced pages in length not including the title and references pages, and formatted according to APA style
  2. Must include a title page with the following:
    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  4. Must include paragraphs of a minimum of three sentences.
  5. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  6. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
  7. Must use at least three peer-reviewed sources
  8. Must document all sources in APA style
  9. Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA

New venture opportunity and SWOT analysis paper, assignment help

New venture opportunity and SWOT analysis paper

This week we will study the SWOT analysis in detail. This week’s paper is required to be appoximately 4 -6 pages in length, not including the title page and the reference page. No paper should be fewer than 1400 words. Double space your work, cite your sources, limit quotes, and edit your work well! Your work will automatically be reviewed by Turnitin upon submission. You will be able to see your similarity report within 20 minutes after your submission. Resubmits are not permitted. Please make sure you cite your work properly and avoid direct quotes.

For this assignment you will invent a new business. Do not use a business created in a previous class. You may not use papers (or any part of a paper) submitted in another class. Make up the business, the location, the client base, and the product or service. Do not use any real company. You may review a real company’s website for ideas, but the basis of this paper should be your own ideas. Your introduction should include a description of your company and any details that are important to the reader. The description of your company should be about one page long and a summary of the business. The other details can be discussed when you are reviewing each of the SWOT elements. The final goal of this paper is to prepare a SWOT analysis of your new venture company. Make sure you have at least two other sources (other than the text) to supplement your work.

You tube video

After developing your new venture and describing it thoroughly in the beginning of your paper, provide a thorough SWOT analysis. Make sure you have included the actual SWOT analysis quad chart listing the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities. You can use your own chart, but your paper should include a simple SWOT chart with the four segments. Use the simple quad chart on page 73 as an example. Then, you must discuss each segment thoroughly and explain what you have learned from performing your analysis.

So, your paper should include a title page and a reference page (no abstract is required):

1 – a description of your new venture (have a clear introduction)

2 – using the quad chart on page 73 as a sample include a simple quad chart with the four basic quadrants

3 – a thorough explanation of what you have learned from the analysis, further defining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

4 – an evaluation – based on what you have learned, will you continue your business venture?

Submit your paper into the assignment section of the classroom.

Font and Spacing – Use Times New Roman 12 pitch font with double-spaced lines.

Length – Write a 4 to 6 page essay not including the title page and citation page. Make sure you have at least 1400 words, not counting the title and reference page.

Reference Page – Include all sources including your textbook on a Reference page

Utilize the APA Style for documenting sources. You will need to include at least two sources in addition to your textbook. Finally, remember Wikipedia is NOT a scholarly source.

Punctuation, essay format (thesis, supporting paragraphs with transition and topic sentences, and summary) grammar and documentation count toward your grade. Review the grading rubric.
