Week 3 Assignment 1

Week 3 – Assignment

Article Critique

Investigate professional journals and locate two articles pertaining
to organizational behavior that are of interest to you. You are to
critique each of the two articles according to the instructions below.
The articles should be less than three years old. You are encouraged to
use the ProQuest Database found in the Ashford Online Library.

Each one- to two- page critique (a total of two to four pages for
both critiques) must include the following three parts and must be
formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style
guide (including title page, in text citations and reference
list). Include both article reviews into one document for submission to
WayPoint (do not submit two documents).

Identification of the Article – Provide the reader with enough information about your article so he/she will be able to locate the article.

Summary of the Article – List the main points that
the author has tried to establish (i.e., 1, 2, 3 or first, second,
third). There normally will be three to five main points. If you are
summarizing a court case, you should discuss: What provision of the law
was at issue? Briefly state the facts of the case. What legal tests were
applied? Were there any unusual elements in the case?

Your Critique – Provide your reaction (insightful,
critical, and logical) to the points that the author tried to make, or
an overall critique of the entire article. A simple statement of
agreement or disagreement is not sufficient. While you may make such a
statement by way of introduction to your reaction, you must clearly and
logically state the reasons for the position that you have taken.

Carefully review the Grading Rubric (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.

bill of rights

When the Constitution was completed in the summer of 1787, approval by representatives from nine of the thirteen states was needed for it to become the nation’s law. The issue of individual rights was managed—though this, too, created conflict among the Framers—with the addition of the Bill of Rights. Change was written into the supreme law of the land; since then, legal institutionalization of changes has occurred. Since the Constitution’s adoption, change has taken place through the amendment process identified in the Constitution. Change has also occurred under the direction of the branches of government established in the Constitution: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary.

Research

The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Review the Bill of Rights in your textbook and select one of the first ten amendments to research more thoroughly. Using the Argosy University online library resources, select at least three peer-reviewed articles about the amendment you have selected. Look specifically for articles that focus on current events or controversies related to the amendment and be prepared to summarize the content of each article.

Annotated Bibliography

Prepare an annotated bibliography of your research. Please read Annotated Bibliography.pdf for an overview on annotated bibiographies. Click here for an example of what an annotated bibliography looks like. Include the following:

  • For each article, write details such as the article title, author name, journal title, and publication date.
  • Write a summary of each article in 200–250 words.
  • Write the conclusions you have drawn from research and your opinion in 1–2 paragraphs.
  • Write a reference list of the selected articles in APA style.

Write a 2–3-page annotated bibliography in Word format. Apply APA standards for writing style to your work. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M1_A3.doc. For example, if your name is John Smith, your document will be named SmithJ_M1_A3.doc.

By the due date assigned, deliver your assignment to the Submissions Area.

Assignment 3 Grading Criteria Maximum Points

WU The Acute Care Prospective Payment System a Reimbursement Program Discussion

Consider the case of Derek Gonsalez in this week’s Introduction. In this case, rather than the hospital getting paid for each supply and service used during the hospital stay, the payer will likely pay a lump sum for the “bundled” knee replacement. If the paid amount is less than the cost, the hospital will have to cover the additional cost. If the amount paid is more than what Derek’s services cost, the hospital keeps the savings. The amount paid is based on the prospective payment system (PPS) used and the service that is rendered. (Farlex, 2016)

Unit I Reflection Paper-Psych

Why Did I Go to College?

Suppose that someone has told you that after reviewing both your genetic background and environmental experiences
(childhood until your current age), he or she has concluded that your environment had very little influence on your
decision to go to college. Basically, you inherited the most reproductively advantageous genes, which led you to enroll in
your degree program.

Reflect on your decision to enroll in college. Choose one reason why you feel that you are enrolled in college today.
Examples might include the following:

  •  Intelligence: Do you consider yourself smart? Why? Did you participate in certain “smart kid” activities? Was that
    your choice?
  •  Personality traits: Have you always been told you were “extroverted” or “shy” or “ambitious?” How did that
    influence you?
  •  Family history: Has everyone in your family always gone to college? Did you grow up engaging in activities that
were different than people whose families did not go to college?
Then, use the concepts of passive, evocative, and active genotype-environment correlations to refute or support the claim
that the environment had little to do with your college career. Your assignment should include the following:
 an opening narrative of your decision to attend college,
 a definition of each correlation,
 an analysis of each correlation in relation to your chosen reason, and
 a summary statement of your support or criticism of a gene-only lens to lifespan development.
Your reflection paper should be at least two pages in length.

POST :

One of the many characteristics that make Walmart a successful business is their strategic supply chain practices. Walmart builds fulfillments centers directly catered towards e-commerce. Their e-commerce facilities are designed to cater toward individual items, as opposed to pallets of products that are moved by forklifts and loaded onto trucks. Their facilities built to operate the e-commerce portion of their business, are stocked with at least 500,000 items, which is much larger than their traditional distribution centers. They are comprised of computer-controlled equipment, as well as, human labor. Walmart’s main goal is to have their e-commerce facilities stocked with a large variety of items, so they can package and ship their products more efficiently. I believe that Walmart’s efforts have paid off. I have had only good experiences when ordering from Walmart’s e-commerce store.

Millennials prefer to shop using their mobile devices. This has pushed companies to become more efficient and to find delivery alternatives that can meet customer expectations. Our generation’s desire to shop for the lowest prices online, combined with the desire for free shipping, has steadily chipped away at merchant’s margins. “According to the 2016 UPS Pulse of Online Shopper Study, 48% of shoppers find guaranteed delivery dates important when checking out online.” (Comstock, 2017, para. 8). It is crucial for companies to deliver as promised, in order to build customer trust and loyalty. It is also important for companies to be equipped with the analytical software needed to determine the best carrier services for each particular destination. Returns are also a crucial dynamic that companies like Amazon have worked hard to make efficient. Returns for Amazon are completely self-serve and easy for customers to process. Ensuring an environment of convenience that is user-friendly is an important aspect of a company’s e-commerce supply chain.

saath.3 You Be the Judge!: The Principle of Humanity

Simulate

In a country where violent clashes are taking place between armed groups, a local group leader suddenly comes face to face with a member of the opposing group. Both are wounded in the ensuing hand-to-hand encounter. The group leader manages to bind up his own wounds. He then gives rudimentary first aid to his adversary, who is hors de combat, and drags him into his house. There his comrades in arms oppose his decision, saying that as he did not leave his enemy to die, that enemy should now be executed, especially as this is the practice of the other side. If his life is spared he should at least be forced to remove the mines laid by the people on his side.

You Be the Judge!

The leader knows that the command under which he serves has publicly stated that it intends to respect the basic provisions of the Geneva Conventions. What must he do? In answering your question, cite to applicable laws. Posit what possible repercussions would be for failing to follow the applicable law. Use the Compendium of Case Studies of International Humanitarian Law (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. by Horst Seibt to support your response.

Use current APA Style formatting for your written assignment, citations, and references. Write a minimum of 500 words. As this is a short paper, do not use or add a title page and abstract.
