Here is what we would like you to do. We want you to use the Import Beer product line as a test case for developing an optimization program. Use the Excel file that we have developed with the forecast information for the import beer product line. Other information that you will need has been provided by Accounting: inventory holding costs, product costs and price markups.

This information with the Sales Forecast and costs and prices has been provided in the Excel file.(See attached Below)

We want you to develop a method that will determine the optimal ordering quantities so that we maximize the gross profits and also take into account inventory holding costs.

After you have developed this method, write a short report to management explaining what you did and how this method can be used going forward on a quarter by quarter basis and for the other product lines.

Also attach any calculations or analysis that you did in an Excel file.

Download the EBBD-ImportsData Excel (See attached below) file and look at how it compares to the practice examples in the EBBD Exercises spreadsheet.

Setup the decision cells, the inventory cells and inventory constraints. Then add the calculations for income and costs. Make sure you get the timing right for which inventory is sold in which quarter. You could develop intermediate cells that calculate the costs, just to help you keep track of this. Be sure to use the quarterly inventory holding cost rate. Then calculate the gross profit cell.

Then, open up Solver and add the aspects to it. Make sure that you add a constraint that keeps your inventory values positive.

Once you have the correct solution, save your Excel file and write the report.

Upload the Report and the Excel file with the solution to Case 3 Dropbox.

Assignment Expectations of the written report – write the report to your boss, Danny Wilco

The report should thoroughly address these aspects in depth and breadth:

• Problem situation: clearly elucidate the problem situation at EBBD
• Assumptions: what are the assumptions that need to be made and your critical evaluation
• Solution: What is your solution for Order Quantities? Discuss how you developed the Solver solution. Keep in mind that your audience is not too technical and do not need a lot of detail on this.
  • Make sure you attach the Excel file.
  • You should refer to the Excel file when necessary.
• Recommendations: what do you propose for EBBD in terms of using this method in the future and for the other product lines?
• Justification & Explanation: clear reasoning as to why the recommendations were made
• Writing style & Organization: well-formed sentences and paragraphs, well organized with flow of reason, and good use of language that pertain to concepts and terminology
• Use of references & citations: Be sure appropriately cite sources within the paper and in the end reference list.

First, compose a short story that shows your main character behaving in ways that illustrates either a general theory (Spearman) or a multiple theory (Thurstone, Gardener, Sternberg) of intelligence. Explain exactly how it is your story demonstrates one conceptualization of intelligence over the other (either as a general mental ability that supports many more specific mental abilities or as multiple dissociable mental abilities). What you want to ask yourself is: what critical observation about my character’s behavior would strongly suggest one conceptualization of intelligence is correct and the other is not? Second, clearly differentiate between the concepts of reliability and validity and illustrate each within the domain of intelligence testing in two ways: 1) by creating a hypothetical scenario (a short story you make up showing the reliability and validity of intelligence testing), and 2) by describing empirical work (studies from my lecture notes or the textbook showing the reliability and validity of intelligence testing).
Third, reflecting on the activities we engaged in during lecture, discuss how culture constructs intelligence and the associated difficulties in creating a culture-free intelligence test. Be sure to address the following in your discussion: 1) differences in the meaning of intelligence across cultures, 2) the inextricable association between content (what we learn) and process (how we learn), and 3) how sociocultural contingencies (i.e., what’s important or not important to a group of people) shape mental abilities. Please be sure to illustrate each of these points with relevant empirical work (See studies posted in Supplementary Lecture Notes).
Try to answer each question in a page (if you go over a little, that’s fine). Otherwise, make sure your paper is typed, double-spaced, with 12-point font.

Many jurisdictions have adopted the Uniform Determination of Death Act, which provides that the individual has either 1) irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions, or 2) irreversible cessation of all function of the grain, including the brain stem. A criminal homicide must be the proximate result of the criminal act, and cannot be so remote that it is not the natural and probable consequence of the criminal act. Other time limits that may be established by statute, and how some states have abolished a time limit altogether as long as a causal connection can be established between the criminal act and resulting death. Along with the elements of the statute, the facts are critical to determining whether the elements can be met. For example, sometimes death occurs after the fatal injury, and in some cases, homicide prosecution under common law require that the death of the victim within a year and a day from the time that the ultimately fatal act took place.

For this assignment, research your state’s (ALABAMA) homicide laws using a statute list from your state’s government Web site. Review the list of homicide statutes to guide you in locating a state homicide case on point with one of the homicide statutes and complete to the following:

• Describe one type of homicide from your state (ALABAMA) statute.
• Explain the elements required to prove a violation of the statute selected.
• Explore a case that is based on a charge associated with your selection, including the facts of the case and the ruling of the court.
• Articulate why it is important for a law enforcement officer to understand the elements of the statute and the court’s interpretation of the statute when conducting an investigation of the crime.

In this Assignment, you will create two lesson plans that address the integration of content areas and learning domains through a theme based approach.

This Assignment has two parts. The first is the selection of an age appropriate, meaningful topic: one that represents both the interests of the children and the educational goals of the curriculum. Consider that long-term engagement in multi-sensory experiences is essential to a good topic selection. Please use the Unit 8 APA Template found in Course Documents.

The second is writing two lesson plans for the identified topic, each plan representing a different domain of the Children’s Comprehensive Curriculum model.

Part 1:

Select a topic to use as the focus of your lesson plans. The topic should be one that is of interest to children: something in their everyday experience that invites exploration. It should also be a topic that fits with learning standards created by government or professional organizations.

Part 2:

Write 2 Lesson Plans each based on a different domain from the Children’s Comprehensive Curriculum model. Each lesson plan, though from a separate domain, will be focused on the same topic. The domains are:

• The Aesthetic Domain
• The Affective Domain
• The Cognitive Domain
• The Language Domain
• The Physical Domain
• The Social Domain

Your lesson plan must be presented in the template provided. Two plans from two different domains; both focused on the same topic. Note: There are examples in Appendix A of your text Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum, 5th ed., pp. 488–494, however they are not presented in the same template form you will be using.

Your project should include a one page introduction (150–300 words) in your project naming and supporting the topic as a good selection. Then, integrate the topic into two separate lesson plans presented in the provided template (1 page each), written in Standard American English, in a 12-point font size (Arial or Times New Roman) with one-inch margins and APA style citations. Include a title page and a reference page (but these are not included in the three page requirement). Be sure to do a spelling and grammar check of your work. For help with citations/references please refer to the APA Quick Reference Guide under Course Resources and also visit the Writing Center.
