Place and Price Analysis

Write an analysis of place and price (the second and third “Ps” of the marketing mix) for a selected product. There is no page limit for this assessment.

Selecting the best methodology for getting a product to the targeted customer is an essential aspect of an integrated marketing plan. The establishment of value, as manifested in a product’s price, is another essential part of a successful integrated marketing program.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

  • Competency 3: Examine the relationship of basic marketing strategies to business success.
    • Analyze relationships between a company’s place strategies for a product and the company’s economic success.
    • Analyze relationships between a company’s price strategies for a product and the company’s economic success.
  • Competency 4: Apply effective marketing planning and implementation.
    • Analyze a product’s distribution channels.
    • Analyze where a product is being sold.
    • Analyze characteristics of a product’s pricing system.
  • Competency 6: Evaluate management implications of marketing and sales plans.
    • Describe potential management challenges related to recommended changes to a company’s place strategies.
    • Describe potential management challenges related to recommended changes to a company’s price strategies

In contemporary marketing, timeliness is critical, given the intense competition in most markets. Many successful companies have moved to a direct sales model in order to maintain greater control and better profit margins. Selection of non-direct distribution outlets carries the sales responsibility to the retail level, as outlets provide the primary interface with each customer. For some products, distribution is now friction free (friction being the lag between demand and supply). For certain kinds of software and other digital modalities (including music), delivery can be as simple as a download to your PC: no shortage of supply and no waiting.SHOW LESS

Often, superior marketing efforts are the sole support for a higher price. The key rule in pricing is to set a price point at which your target customers will buy. If you cannot make a profit at that point, then perhaps you do not need to be in that business. As complex as pricing decisions can be, many organizations rely on three basic methodologies:

    1. Cost-based pricing, which takes the basic costs of the product or service and adds an acceptable profit margin.
    2. Value-based pricing, which attempts to set a price or value for the product to either solve a problem or save time and money.
    3. Competition-based pricing, which simply follows along with what the market price is on similar products.

To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.

  • Supply chain management is an important part of a company’s distribution strategy. After reading the suggested articles in the Resources regarding REI, consider REI’s current channel and methods of distribution. How does REI use supply chain management? Does this method work well? How might it be improved?

Correlation coefficient between “Months with service (tenure)” and “Household Income (income) is 0.243 as obtained from SPSS. This value is significant at 1% level of significance. This implies that there is weak positive linear relationship between the two variables. That is as the value of Months with service increases the value of household income increases slightly.

4.

Correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation. Correlation measures the degree of association between the two variables. Or in other words it measures the strength of linear relationship between them. But causation means the change in one variable is caused by other.

According to Kendall’s tau b, the value of correlation coefficient is -0.112. This implies that there is weak negative relationship or almost no relationship between the two variables.

According to spearman’s tho the value of correlation coefficient is -0.152. This also implies that there is weak negative relationship or almost no relationship between the two variables.

8.

I used one-tailed test to test the significance of negative relationship between the two variables namely “Level of Education” and “Age in Years.” Here my null hypothesis is that the value of correlation coefficient is not significant, that is p =0. While my alternative hypothesis is that the value of correlation coefficient is significant, that is p < 0.

9.

Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient is calculated between two variables which are measured on interval or Ratio scale of measurement. The Ratio level of measurement has equal differences between scale values and equal quantitative meaning. It has a true zero point. A true zero point means that a value of zero on the scale represents zero quantity of the construct being assessed. Here, both tenure andincome variables are measured on Ratio scale of measurement.

Spearman’s and Kendall’s Correlation coefficient is calculated between two variables which are measured on a ordinal scale. The ordinal level of measurement describes variables that can be ordered or ranked in some order of importance. Here age and education are measured on ordinal level of measurement. It measures the monotonic relationship between the two variables.

Discussion Question

200 words or more

Discuss how sexual harassment has been a most troublesome issue in the workplace. Although quid pro quo is often the most blatant, it is the hostile work environment that has been a frequent subject of litigation. In the law enforcement profession, a certain amount of professional kidding has often been regarded as a good tension-reliever. However, there are lines that should not be crossed, such as when comments or joking takes on a racial, sexual, or hurtful tenor. Discuss your views on the benefits and risks of office humor, comparing the bonding and tension-relief versus the creation of a hostile work environment. Finally, how does this impact Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office core values, such as the Saint Leo core values?

editing and refining research proposal world trade center

This assignment is to provide a research proposal outline, i.e. a draft, if you will, of you research proposal.

The submission at this point should include, in APA format, all of the essential topic subtitles from the guide on your chosen question and research type (qualitative vs. mixed method vsquantitative). The outline may contain the parts you feel you have finished writing, or may simply include notes on your choices, and how you intend to complete the section over the next very few weeks.

The proposal (project, paper) needs to have all the parts listed and how you intend to flesh out the formal proposal.

APA Format for titles (MUST apply)

Presume your audience knows NOTHING about the subject and define all concepts and abbreviations when first used.

Sections to be completed and proof read prior to submission includes:

  • Introduction to the problem, background, guiding questions, delimitations and limitations, significance of the study (the reason you feel it is important.
  • REFINED Literature review
  • The EXISTING theory and practices (if applicable)
  • Human Subject Institutional Review Board Draft (use PhilaU) if human subjects are to be used.
  • References
  • List of expected appendices

this link ( in the bottom ) will help you understand what i what from this research. i want something similar with the same method and aim. this draft will be the base for further expansion in the research. the research will include statistics and surveys in the future so make sure to suggest 20 questions for the survey to ask the healthcare providers.

Matthew P. Mauer, Karen R. Cummings, Rebecca Hoen; Long-term respiratory symptoms in World Trade Center responders, Occupational Medicine, Volume 60, Issue 2, 1 March 2010, Pages 145–151, https://doi.org/10.1093/occmed/kqp176

notes:

– to be clear about my method, in this research i will try to find the relation between being exposed to the world trade center dust and lower respiratory ling diseases.

– what could be done to elemental the threat of hazardous air born material to the pre healthcare providers ? ( i was thinking about enhancing the personal protective equipment N-95 mask, the reason that i choose the PPE is when WTC happened manny rescuers said that the N-95 mask impaired their ability to breath after short period of using the mask since it gets clogged with dust and air born materials.)( my targeted group ie. firefighter, paramedics, police .. ) and i was thin

– the research needs to be compatible with APA formate ( the abstract is missing) and plz check if other things need changing.

– some references are missing so if you can find the reference that would be great and if you cant then make a new reference that serve the same point.

– i would love if you can use more references ( more than 12 ) , in the attachment you will find an annotated bibliography file that has more references to the problem.

– ill be needing a 20 – 25 survey for the pre healthcare providers ( my targeted group)

– the survey has to has an instrument to validate the mental and physical capability of the person who is doing the survey. ( 10 – 15 question) lets say if the person scored more that 8 out 15 then the survey is valid and can be included in the research. if you have any questions about this let me know.

– in the attachment you will fined the document that i have submitted to my professor and his comments are in it. there is also a grading rubric that will hep you know where i lost points so you could fix it 🙁

Racial and Criminal Profiling

Part I

The Uniform Crime Reports page on the FBI government Web site provides links for their annual Crime in the United States publications. Before you are able to view one of these reports, you are given the following disclaimer:

Caution Against Ranking

Each year when Crime in the United States is published, some entities use reported figures to compile rankings of cities and counties. These rough rankings provide no insight into the numerous variables that mold crime in a particular town, city, county, state, or region. Consequently, they lead to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting communities and their residents. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the range of unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction. The data user is, therefore, cautioned against comparing statistical data of individual reporting units from cities, metropolitan areas, states, or colleges or universities solely on the basis of their population coverage or student enrollment.

Why do you think this cautionary notice is given before users are directed to the FBI’s Crime in the United States publication? Expand on your viewpoint and find credible sources to support your rationale.

If you would like to visit the Web site, go to http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm#cius.

Part II

Go to http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm#cius, again. Scroll down to the section entitled, Hate Crime Statistics, and click on “Hate Crime Data Collection Guidelines and Training Manual.”

Using this training guide, complete the following:

  • Define and describe the following terms:
    • Prejudice
    • Stereotype
    • Discrimination
    • Racism
    • Sexism
    • In-group

  • Point out the distinction between institutional prejudice and personal prejudice.
  • Explain ways in which stereotypes can influence memory for and perceptions of events.
  • What are common stereotypes of the specific minority groups explained in the training guide? How may one differentiate those stereotypes from accurate descriptions of the minority groups?
  • Identify the principal psychological motivations underlying prejudice.

Hello Professor ,

There are two methods for writing off uncollectible accounts which include the direct write-off method and allowance method. Which method is most commonly utilized and what is the process for writing these accounts off under each method? Explain the entries that are made to record payment of an account that has previously been written-off?

There are two different methods in accounting that can be used to write off uncollectible accounts one is the direct write off method , with the direct write off method there is no allowance but there is only accounts receivable and the accounts receivable is written off to expense once they identified an uncollectible account . The next method for writing off an uncollectible account is allowance for doubtful accounts this method is used for accrual based accounting .Under this method there is a reduction of the total amount of the accounts receivable , this is based on an estimate of an account of the uncollectible amount . The direct write off method is the preferred method for most companies because this method is required for filing federal income taxes .

Posted 2

Hi everyone,

The direct write-off method is a process used when entering an uncollectible account to increase Bad Debt Expense and decrease Accounts Receivable, as the uncollectible account is being eliminated. Debit the Bad Debt Expense and credit Accounts Receivable. “Under this method, Bad Debt Expense will show only actual losses from uncollectibles. The company will report accounts receivable at its gross amount”, (Kieso, D. E., et al., pg. 334). While the direct write-off method is frequently used due to its simplicity, convenience and for tax reasons, it is considered inadequate. In the case of a payment being received after the write-off, two entries are necessary. First, the uncollectible account must be put back in the books. Accounts Receivable should be debited and Bad Debt Expense, credited. Secondly, the payment transaction must be recorded. A debit should be made to Cash and a credit to Accounts Receivable.

The allowance method occurs at the end of each accounting period. Bad debt accounts are estimated, using prior reports and figures of the business’s unsettled receivables. This method is required by the FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board), for reporting outstanding receivables with the use of three major aspects, according to Kieso, D. E., et al. (Intermediate Accounting, 16thEdition., 2016., pg. 334).

  1. Companies estimate uncollectible accounts receivable and compare the new estimate to the current balance in the allowance account.

  1. Companies debit estimated increases in un-collectibles to Bad Debt Expense and credit them to Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (a contra asset account) through an adjusting entry at the end of each period.

  1. When companies write off a specific account, they debit actual un-collectibles to Allowance for Doubtful Accounts and credit that amount to Accounts Receivable.

With the allowance method, if a payment is received after it has been written off, the original entry is reversed to restore the account. Accounts Receivable should be debited, and Allowance for Doubtful Accounts should be credited. Then, the collection is recorded as a debit of Cash and credit to Accounts Receivable.

The allowance method is a mandatory practice expected by the FASB. The direct write-off method is an easy way to manage bad debt when nonpayment is rare. However, this method violates the matching principle which states that expenses must be matched with revenue”, (Kristin, CPA., 2018).

Posted 3

Hello Professor and Class,

When a company is unable to collect debts on the accounts receivable, they can use either the direct write-off or the allowance method to record the losses. Under the direct write-off method, the Bad Debt Expense shows “only actual losses from uncollectible accounts” (Kieso, D. E., et al., pg. 333). Therefore, at the point of preparing the balance sheet, it is assuming that all the accounts receivable could be turning to cash. This could cause the assets being overstated on the report. Under this method, the losses will be recorded as a Bad Debt Expense (debit) and reduced the same amount directly to Accounts Receivable (credit). This also means the bad debt expense could occur in a later period than the revenue from the sale. In addition, if for some reason, the company is able to collect the bad debt expense from the previous period, they simply reverse the transaction in the current period. For these reasons, the direct write-off method “is not considered appropriate”.

On the other hand, the allowance method is more complex, but it follows the matching principle that the revenues are matched with the expenses incurred in the same period. Under this method, the company follows 3 steps. First, they estimate uncollectible accounts receivable which based on the previous periods or previous years’ experience. Next, they debit the estimated amount to the Bad Debt Expense and credit to an additional account, called Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (contra asset accounts). This is made at the end of each period. Finally, it is written off by debiting the allowance for doubtful accounts and crediting the accounts receivable (*). When they are able to collect the written-off amount, they reverse the (*) and make a collectible on accounts transaction by debiting cash and crediting AR. Although the allowance method is more commonly used by companies, the IRS only allows them to use the direct write-off method for income tax reporting.

ENGLISH 4 : MODULE 02 : LESSON 06 ACTIVITY: PREPPING YOUR SOURCES

Lesson Summary

Creating Your Annotated Bibliography

In this lesson, you have explored the purpose of annotated bibliographies and how to construct them. For this assignment, you will gather your ideas in the Annotated Bibliography Notes, and from these notes, you will create an annotated bibliography for submission. View this sample of an annotated bibliography.

All sources in your annotated bibliography will relate to the amendment or personal freedom you chose from the Bill of Rights.

Previously, you created a list of 12 sources to use in your research. Now, you will narrow that list to eight sources in your annotated bibliography. Your annotated bibliography will include:

  • two sources related to the landmark court case you selected to relate to your topic
  • two sources related to an advocate’s statements related to your topic
  • two sources related to contemporary court cases related to your topic
  • one multi-media source related to your topic (video, slideshow, infographic, or other multi-media source)
  • the citation for the amendment from the Bill of Rights you selected as your topic

For each source, you will include:

  • the MLA citation
  • two sentences explaining what the source is and what it contains
  • one sentence explaining what use the source might be when writing your paper

Follow these steps to create your own annotated bibliography.

Step 1—Take notes

Use the Annotated Bibliography Notes to gather the information you need to formulate a final bibliography.

To write correctly formatted citations in this assignment, use the MLA Formatting Guide for reference as you work. You may also use online resources to help create citations, such as EasyBib or Son of Citation Machine. Simply submit the information from your sources, such as the title, author, URL, and date of publication, and the MLA citation will be created automatically on these websites. Check that it is correctly formatted before you submit your work.

Step 2—Create a final annotated bibliography

Using the notes you completed in Step 1, create your final annotated bibliography and include the eight required sources. You will submit this final copy.
