Project Part 1: Project Proposal

There are four parts to the final course project. The first part of the project is the initial project proposal, which will be submitted to the instructor for approval–before continuing with the rest of the project. It includes the Introduction to the Project Proposal.

The first part of the project will identify the company of choice that will seek an expansion opportunity to an oversee area of choice. Be sure to identify the country and mode of entry. In addition, provide an introduction and overview of the selected company along with an initial analysis of the growth opportunity.

Write a 1000 word, APA style paper where you complete the requirements for Part 1 of the Project Proposal. Part 1 must include the following:

Identify the following:

• Country of choice
• Mode of entry

In your paper include a title sheet and 2-3 references. Only one reference may be found on the internet. The other references must be found in the Grantham University online library. Only the body of the paper will count toward the word requirement. Please see rubric below.

Each of the discussion questions below are questions related to this Module. A reply should between 300 and 700 words and may be in video or PowerPoint form. Extra points are given for references, especially in peer reviewed papers and in APA format. References should include links, if applicable. You should subscribe to the discussion and respond to comments from other students.

You are also asked to respond to at least two other students discussion questions for the module they’ve selected. Students are also encouraged to comment to discussions throughout the semester.

1 – Assurance of Proper Waste Diversion

Sometimes waste diverted for recycling cannot find a marketable reuse. This waste is stored and eventually disposed at a landfill sometimes creating environmental issues related to how it was stored. In addition, a considerable quantity of diverted waste has been exported. It is well known that some of that waste has never been reused or recycled and has essentially been disposed of in a way that is less environmental sound than solid waste landfilling. An example of this is when recycled goods were sent to China and then actually ended up in giant uncontrolled waste piles. The US simply exported a commodity that resulted in a worse environmental impact than landfilling here in the US.

How might waste recycling or reuse be assured? What kind of precautions should be required for recycled commodity export?

Discussion Question 2 – Creating Markets for Reuse

The fact that something can be recycled doesn’t in itself create a market for that commodity. When laws and regulations are created to divert something from disposal, the market is instantly flooded with material, often driving the price negative. It can be argued that diversion mandates, in fact, regulate the wrong end of the recycling market and that requiring manufactures to acquire larger portion of their raw materials from reclaimed materials would be overall, more productive. However, disposal has proven easier to regulate the production.

Do you agree or disagree with the regulation of manufacturing to require reuse of recycled raw materials? Sometimes recycling is more expensive than raw materials. Should businesses be compensated for that difference? Are there other ways that recycling markets might be encouraged?

Discussion Question 3 – Solid Waste Incineration

Solid waste incineration is an obvious choice in places where land is limited. In addition, incineration can produce a lot of energy partly off-setting the cost of solid waste disposal. Also, there can be up to 90% reduction in landfill volume. Even though incineration produces small amounts of unavoidable air pollution, it is unquestionably much less than air pollution from landfilling. However, incineration doesn’t encourage source reduction given that many of the things which burn well can also be recycled. Landfills can also produce energy but in doing so, may also generate enormous greenhouse gas emissions.

Considering the advantages and disadvantages of solid waste incineration, do you feel this might be an appropriate technology for Southern California where it is extremely difficult to find landfill space near waste sources? Are greenhouse gas emissions enough of a concern to off-set concerns about source reduction? Discuss.

The essay is a form of academic writing and the topic of it is about Blue Ocean Strategy

This is the two-part task, the first one is an outline of the paper. the outline is no more than 1000 words. approximately 600-800 is ok.

the second one is a portfolio of three 1000-word essays. These essays are to be based around one theory or framework of your choice (Blue Ocean Strategy);

This portfolio of essays needs to cover three areas:

Paper 1:a discussion of your chosen theory or framework

Paper 2:an application of that theory or framework to an organisation of your choice

Paper 3:an evaluation of the application of that theory or framework to your chosen organisation

Appropriateness of Communication

Most organizations use some form of controlled, unmediated communication to communicate directly with key stakeholders, even if only in unusual situations. Today’s electronic media make such communication much simpler; with such tools as e-mail, blogs, or Twitter, even small organizations find ways to circumvent traditional media gatekeepers to control both the content and the delivery timing of some messages.

Thus, when communicating financial information, there are a variety of options, and each option suits audiences differently. What might you need to keep in mind when using various types of media to communicate financial information to different audiences? What are the possible implications of different types of communications? How might communications regulations contribute to these considerations and implications?

Evaluate the appropriateness of communication platforms and styles to audiences. You will also compare strategies related to how and when to differentiate between internal and external communications.

To prepare:

• Recall experiences within your own organization, or an organization with which you are familiar, that required controlled communications, especially to relay pertinent or sensitive financial information. Reflect on whether their efforts were effective or if they caused more questions than answers.
• Consider how you would determine the appropriate platform and strategies for communicating financial information to various stakeholders (for example, communicating financial information to external stakeholders like banks or lending institutions on quarterly financial results versus how to communicate that information internally).
• Consider the importance of differentiating between internal and external communications.

In a one page summary answer the following questions:

• What communication platforms would you recommend to communicate financial information appropriately to internal and external audiences?
• Which styles do you believe would be most effective, in general, in internal communications? In external communications? Why?
• Why must external communications be treated differently than internal communications?
• Why must organizations remain careful, even when distributing internal communications?
