Annotated Bibliography , Writing homework help

For this week’s Assignment, you will create an Annotated Bibliography to evaluate the brain research involving language development. You can use the Unit_2_Annotated_Bibliography_Template.docx template in Course Documents to complete this Assignment. If you need additional information on writing an Annotated Bibliography, visit the KU Writing Center.

Your Annotated Bibliography will evaluate three articles.

For the first article, you will use the Early Language Acquisition article by Dr. Kuhl. In addition to the summary, this paragraph will contain an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of this research. Finally, provide a comprehensive description of the research and the significance of the data.

Kuhl, P. K. (2004). Early language acquisition: cracking the speech code. Nature Reviews Neuroscience, 5(11), 831 –843.

You will need to look for two additional articles that discuss the research on the brain and language development. It should not be another article from Dr. Kuhl’s work. However, in both articles, you will need to summarize the sources and provide an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the research discussed in both articles. You should provide a comprehensive description of the research and significance of the data from each article.

Assignment Guidelines

Before submitting your Annotated Bibliography for a grade, you will want to double check the Unit 2 rubric in the Syllabus and make sure that you have the following:

Each essay should include:

  • A title page with identifying information

  • A reference page
  • Use standard margins: 1″ on all sides
  • Use standard 12-point font size, Times New Roman or Arial

PROBLEM 5

Assume that you are a Loan Officer at Regions Bank.A well-known businesswoman in town (A) who is the CEO of a well-known and highly respected company in town (B) came to you a year ago and asked for a loan of $1 million to her company to help finance a water reclamation facility on the premises of the company. While the company and the CEO are well-known, another businessman in town (C), who is equally well-respected offered to sign a Guaranty Agreement[1] for the loan to the company.

At the time of this discussion, B (the company) had a number of outstanding loans from other lenders.Naturally, you were concerned about the ability of B to pay those loans because B’s ability to pay those loans could have a direct bearing on the ability of B to pay the $1 million that you and Regions were contemplating loaning it.

Before this transaction, C had been a major shareholder in B.Sometime before the negotiations for the loan from Regions, he sold his shares because he was positioning himself to be able to retire in about 6 months.During the oral negotiations for the loan, C represented to you that B had good relationships with the other banks that were holding the existing indebtedness, that there should be no problems renewing those loans by the other banks, and, therefore, that B was in a position where it could pay the indebtedness to Regions.

You authorized the loan and C signed the Guaranty Agreement. At the time scheduled for payment of the loan, B defaults and C defaults on his Guaranty Agreement. You learn that, at the time that C made the comments about the other loans, A’s and B’s relationships with the banks were deteriorating and that the loans were unlikely to be renewed.

Your CEO comes to you for initial advice before going to Region’s General Counsel. She asks for your opinion about whether Regions has a viable cause of action against C, the Guarantor.Provide your analysis that will serve as the basis of your advice to her. Clearly identify and state the relevant facts, the issue(s), the legal rules that you deem applicable, and do your analysis.

Do you have sufficient facts to make the analysis that you need?If you believe that you do not, then state the additional facts that you would need to make an informed analysis and explain how those additional facts would be relevant to the issue(s) and rule(s) that you have identified.

You do not need to write a memorandum.Just give me your structured analysis.

[1] Regarding Guaranty Agreements, I suggest that you go to the Internet to generally familiarize yourself with them.Your Text does not have sufficient information.

Researching Marketing Questions No Plagiarism

I am currently in a master’s graduate course needing some help on a written report that is a combination of a memorandum and a summary report to include both an introduction and conclusion, along with proper APA citations used and references with direct web links of proper cited material. Also, no plagiarism per instructor request and will be checked. If any plagiarism is found, either points will be taken off or will fail the assignment project. Here are the following assignment instructions:

Purpose of Assignment

This assignment is designed to help students analyze and interpret primary and/or secondary data and research. First, students will be provided with a marketing report that allows for preparing basic executive level data insights. Second, they will be allowed to pick a company and product or service. This assignment will help prepare students for the development of their marketing plan. Students will be creating a marketing plan (refer to Marketing Plan and Outline documents-attached below) so they may want to choose a company and product or service that has data readily available or where they can use demographic/psychographic data to provide insights.

Assignment Steps (Include both an Introduction & Conclusion for memorandum and summary report topics)

Part 1:

Analyze the Week 1 Business Growth Overview dataset. (Attached below) This is a marketing report generated by an analyst for the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Marketing at a large corporation. The analyst is new and has provided summary data but no insights or commentary for the SVP.

Construct a minimum 525-word or more memorandum for the SVP providing insights and commentary. The memorandum should include your analysis of the following:

  • Major areas of increase and decrease in revenue or type and/or category of business
  • Trends that are evident in terms of revenue or type and/or category of business
  • Insights that would help formulate marketing strategies to either continue growth or reverse decline
  • Additional analysis you (if you were SVP) would like to build a marketing goal and strategy or strategies (and why)

Part 2:

Select a global or multi-regional (does business in more than one country) company and one of its products or services that will serve as the basis for your marketing plan. You should obtain two years of annual reports as well as two years of 10K reports (provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s business and financial condition and includes audited financial statements) for your data source. Once you have selected your product or service, you must define the size and type of your selected company that provides the product or service (available from annual reports). This need not be elaborate but must include total number of employees, production volume, distribution methods, and so forth. Record this information in a summary document as outlined below.

Company and product selection is a critical part of this project. You must ensure your proposed company can implement the marketing methods discussed in Marketing Management.

Prepare a minimum 175-word summary or more document and send it to your instructor as a record of your selection. The summary document should include the following:

  • Name of Company
  • Location of Company Headquarters
  • Name of Product or Service selected
  • General description of company (number of employees, revenue, type of ownership, web page, etc.)
  • General description of product or service

Format your assignment consistent with APA guidelines. Include APA citations and web links of professional references that are used.

Most importantly. No plagiarism per instructor and will be checked!

Study Socrates’ Philosophical Lifestyle then Answer the Following Questions

Socrates compared Athenians to a dazed, sluggish horse that could possibly be awakened by the persistent biting of an (annoying!) fly. This idea of Socrates as a transformative “philosophical gadfly” inspired many who have read about Socrates’s life and death.

Your formal (APA) writing assignment this week is to write a 600-900 word essay that answers each of the following questions:

  1. Did Socrates’s philosophical lifestyle have the potential to “wake up” Athenians in a way that could have been useful to that society?
  2. Does the importance of being awoken in that way justify the extreme manner that Socrates chose to live and die?
  3. Do you agree that (to use a famous phrase from the eighteenth century Prussian philosopher Immanuel Kant), awakening an individual–or an entire society–from “dogmatic slumbers” is a constructive and useful role of raising probing philosophical questions? Is there a significant opportunity for philosophers or others to play this kind of constructive role in our own society?

Please ensure that your essay addresses each component of the assigned questions and that your answer is well-organized, uses excellent, college-level prose, and makes judicious use of textual evidence.

This is the textbook we are using for this class:  Stewart, D., Blocker, G. H., & Petrik, J. (2012). Fundamentals of philosophy. (8th ed. ed.). New York: Pearson. ISBN: 9780205242993

answer these questions as paragraphs

For full credit, write one paragraph response to each of the ten questions.

based on the movie provided below

1. Achbar and Simpson (the directors) present many different metaphors from various perspectives to describe corporations, including: “bad apples”; “sports teams”; “families”; “eagles”; “sharks”; “doom machines”; “high priests” etc. What metaphor or metaphors do you think are most apt?

2. Achbar and Simpson explain how the 14th amendment led to corporations being declared “persons” under the law. In what ways are corporations like “people,” and in what ways are they not like people? Do you agree with the concept of corporations being “people” in the eyes of the law?

3. The film defines “externalities,” and examines several types throughout the film. What is an “externality,” and what are some of the examples the directors give? Explain how they function as externalities, and who “pays” so that other companies can profit?

4. Around 21 minutes into the fi lm, a CEO gives a justification for corporations going into developing countries and paying low labor costs. To paraphrase, the justification is that these people have nothing to offer but their low cost labor, and companies “he lp” them by employing them. Then, “when they are nice and healthy and fat, and their wages rise,” corporations can move on to the next impoverished community to enrich them. Companies like Nike are viewed as “Godsends” according to this CEO.

Evaluate the strength of this justification.

5. The directors provide an example of a liz Clairborne shirt that costs consumers $174 for which the company paid a worker .76 cents to make. Explore the rhetorical purpose of this example. What are the directors trying to demonstrate, and do they do so effectively?

6. The directors present an argument that if corporations are “people” they are most like “psychopaths.” How do they support this assertion? Is this metaphor effective?

7. Exp lain the rhetorical purpose of the 2 college students who paid for their college education by being “walking billboards.” What were the filmmakers trying to argue by way of their example? Did they make an effective argument?

8. The filmmakers focus on how corporations rely on advertising and branding to be successful. They claim that corporations “create wants” and produce a culture of “fashionable consumption” by which people mainly ask themselves, “how many created wants can I satisfy?” To what extent to you believe this is true? To what extent do you feel that your life is preoccupied by questions of “what to consume next”?

9. The film raises the question of whether or not manipulative advertising techniques–what marketers call “communication techniques”– esp to children are “ethical”–how did they answer this question, and do you agree with their assertion?

10. The film asks, rhetorically, “who will defend the public’s right to know if most of the corporate media is corporate owned”? How do they answer this question?

Critical reading of a quantitative research article

BA in education,

module name : understanding education: research and researching

brief:

Critical Reading of a Quantitative Research Article

You are to write a 1200 word report (±10%, so anything

between 1080 and 1320 words) critically reviewing the

following research paper

  • Stipek, D. J., & Byler, P. (1997). Early childhood education
  • teachers: Do they practice what they preach? Early

    Childhood Research Quarterly, 12(3), 305-325.

    Assessment Criteria

  • Your report must include a brief description of the aims
  • of the article you are reviewing

  • You should critically examine the authors’ choice of
  • methods (you may use the questions we adapted from

Greenhalgh & Taylor in session 6 – see overleaf)

  • You must review some* of the statistics or graphs
  • which have been used in relation to the context and the

type of data which has been recorded. Have the authors

    justified their approach?

  • You should cite at least three methods texts and/or other
  • studies that have been conducted in education to support

your views. (E.g. if you feel that the author used an

inappropriate test or didn’t do the right “checking tests”

    – use your lecture notes and other sources to explain

    why.).

  • You can include some reflective commentary – do you
  • find the results interesting, convincing, well-justified?

You might also consider what you have learned from the

authors’ report which might have implications for your

    future quantitative research.

    * See next page

    Suggested structure

The aim of this task is for you to critically explore at least

some elements of the authors’ quantitative approach. It is

recommended that you briefly summarise how the authors’

methods might complement or support each other.

You can use these questions as sub-headings if you wish.

Explain that you are doing so when introducing the report

(cite the EDU202 Powerpoint slides or explain how these

are adapted from Greenhalgh & Taylor).

PLEASE NOTE: You are not required to address all of these questions or all of the methods used in the paper.

  • Question 1: Did the paper describe an important
  • educational issue addressed via a clearly formulated

    question?

  • Question 2: Was a quantitative approach appropriate?
  • Question 3: How were the setting and the subjects
  • selected?

  • Question 4: What was the researcher’s perspective, and
  • has this been taken into account?

(How have the authors’ positionality or epistemological

beliefs around quantitative methods been declared or

    implied?)

  • Question 5: What methods did the researcher use for
  • collecting data and are these described in enough detail?

  • Question 6: What methods did the researcher use to
  • analyse the data and what quality control measures were

    implemented? (Assumption checks like Shapiro-Wilk

    etc.)

  • Question 7: Are the results credible, and if so, are they
  • educationally important?

  • Question 8: What conclusions were drawn, and are they
  • justified by the results?

  • Question 9: Are the findings of the study transferable to
  • other educational settings?

  • Question 10: Has anything in this paper made me change
  • how I will approach reading or reporting quantitative

    research in future?

    Notes on referencing:

Include the full reference for the paper you are reviewing at

the end of the task. You don’t need to keep referencing it

within the text itself, instead just use page numbers (p. 4) to indicate where you are referring to parts of the paper.

When you use other sources like methods texts or other

research, reference them as usual with a citation in the text

(Connolly, 2001, p. 43) and an entry in the reference list at the

    end of the task.

    Notes on advanced methods:

Some of the papers may involve statistical techniques that you

    have not yet covered.

You can still review these papers using the questions

above! You can comment on how clearly the author has

explained the purpose and appropriateness of their chosen

method. You can also consider how clearly the author has

    reported their results.

i have provide the literature article that need to critical review in this essay, and also provide two example of this essay that written by previous student
