Fear is the main barrier to successful presentations. It is important to engage the audience in order to be an effective professional presenter. I definitely have a fear of public speaking and this prevents me from fully enjoying the experience of sharing knowledge and my vision. However, this weakness is only with large groups of 5 or more people. I suppose I’m afraid I’ll make a huge mistake and everyone will laugh or critique me. Also, another weakness is a lack of eye contact with the audience. I tend to focus on a few friendly faces when it is important to make the entire audience feel as if you are speaking directly to them. Facing my fear one step at a time seems to help ease the nervousness a little more each time. According to Foulkes, 2014, acquiring the skill of professional presentation can increase a nurse’s sense of empowerment and confidence. One method which could potentially calm my nerves before a presentation would be to utilize deep breathing and visualization. Also, doing something to release the nervous energy such as taking a quick walk outside. In addition, I believe if I can visualize myself as a confident speaker who is engaging and interesting, it could help this become a reality. Also, being organized and well-prepared will be vital to the success of my presentation. Moreover, practicing with a friend or family member could provide useful feedback.

My strength is that if I am passionate about the topic, I tend to be enthusiastic and lively. I’m more concerned about sharing my knowledge and/or vision than my fears. So, whenever presenting professionally, its vital that I truly believe in the topic. Also, another strength is that I tend to keep presentations to the point and enjoy creating visual tools such as powerpoints.

• Write a brief summary about the product / service / brand that you have chosen. The most important part of this part of the project is to show that you understand what the key competitive advantage of the product / service / brand is and how they have achieved this
• Through primary research (surveys / interviews / focus groups), you are required to see what potential customers think about the product / service / brand that you have chosen. You are also required to show proof of primary research
• Design an advertisement showing the key competitive advantage and what customers think about and want from this product / service / brand. You are required to use the primary research that you have done in step 2 to design a creative advertisement. The advertisement can be in any form e.g. poster, media, video, radio etc.
• Write a summary about how your advertisement has served its purpose and explain how it shows the key advantages and the wants and needs of the customer.

Appraise each resource using the “Rapid Critical Appraisal Checklists,” available in the textbook appendix. Develop a research table to organize and summarize the research studies. Using a summary table allows you to be more concise in your narrative description. Only research studies used to support your intervention are summarized in this table. Refer to the “Evaluation Table Template,” available in the textbook appendix. Use the “Evaluation Table Template” as an adaptable template.

Write a narrative of 750-1,000 words (not including the title page and references) that presents the research support for the projects problem and proposed solution. Make sure to do the following:

• Include a description of the search method (e.g., databases, keywords, criteria for inclusion and exclusion, and number of studies that fit your criteria).
• Summarize all of the research studies used as evidence. The essential components of each study need to be described so that readers can evaluate its scientific merit, including study strengths and limitations.
• Incorporate a description of the validity of the internal and external research.

It is essential to make sure that the research support for the proposed solution is sufficient, compelling, relevant, and from peer-reviewed professional journal articles.
